And what better way to spend a few days in a lodge tucked away in the Moose Mountain Provincial Park than with some really great creative gals, the gala of fall leaves rustling, and impromptu sitings of deer! Who would even think that the following week we would be huddling in our homes, away from the onslaught of an unexpected winter storm! This was my second get-away to Kenosee and it was equally as enjoyable as the first back in the early winter months of this year. I Friday, I hosted a Luncheon Tea Party, followed by two different crafts that folks go to make and take away. But the Tea Party will be another post. First picture up is one of the many deer sitings I had. Isn't he the luckiest deer ever, tucked safely in the Provincial Park where no hunting is allowed. Hope he knows where the Park boundaries are! And then up, a whole collection of some of the layouts I managed to complete.

Wilson - Guest Book
Daughter Samantha is in a wedding party for a friend from back in the highschool days. The bride, Toby, has chosen purple as her wedding color/peacock theme. So, I went with that and created this wedding guest book for the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Wilson. I loved working with the vivid purples and peacock colors!

A month flown by since my last month ... and let's say it really did fly by. In there, lots of scrapbooking done. Work, of course. Lots of genealogy, having discovered another line of Wyatt folk on the east-coast of Canada that are related. One very bad, bad cold, which saw me 'not' celebrating Easter. And the passing of someone who made a difference in my daughter's life ... well, mine too, for that matter. When Samantha was little, she wanted to Highland Dance and we found her teacher lived just down the road from our home. A teacher, Lynn Stephens, dedicated to the Scottish culture and particularly, dance, she taught Samantha for many years. But not only dance ... also respect, determination, confidence, self-esteem; all at the same time as still letting her be a girl growing up. She will be missed by many in her family, her friends, and her dancing community. Winter disappeared during this time as well, with exceptionally warm summer-like days in March! The Canada geese and so many other birds were suddenly all here singing their song ... I especially love listening to the birds in the morning when I am standing at the bus stop waiting for the bus to take me to work. Friday, the melody, however, was dominated by one very noisy blue jay. And although blue jays have to be one of my favourite birds, I thought it quite vain to dominate the sounds waves! My daffodils bloomed this year "at Easter", and I see that all my other plants are well on their way to sprouting forward into May already. And in the midst of the hustle and bustle of these days blurring past, I offer some of the scrapbooking pages I have done:

Another B-D
Well, the first layout below is of a photo taken 44 years ago. And I remember the day my Mother posed me for that photo. Well, maybe not the day, but I do remember that dress. It was a mauve/pink/white plaid style, medium-weight cotton, with a layered lace bib. I am seeing my daughter and my nieces in this picture. Wow, famiy resemblances, or what! I finished these few layouts this past weekend at a fundraising scrapbooking crop at the Polish RC in Cooks Creek. What a wonderful collection of folks to spend the day with, all of us busy creating to our little hearts' content! Thank you Ashley for a spectacular event!
